This site will be the primary site of Remark Webdesign. The "old" site (this one) will remain in existence but on a slightly different location. Remark Webdesign still remains available for work and/or help on your PivotX site.
Already pointed out in an earlier message is the fact that now for a long time there has been no development in PivotX. A shame but the world spins on!
That is why the choice on a CMS for a new site has been made for Wordpress. This CMS was considered years ago as too standard and hardly adaptable, in due time this has improved very much. Even with the help of Remark Webdesign the possibilities are limitless!
So if you consider changing your PivotX site to Wordpress Remark Webdesign can help you with that!
]]>This wisdom now also applies to housestyleCMS PivotX.
During several months there haven't been any improvements and only bug fixing.
The last months Remark Webdesign has been very busy with fully expanding the first export tool for PivotX definitions to Wordpress format. Some sites have already been converted and eventually this site will follow.
In earlier years there were a lot of comments that Wordpress is a nice CMS but difficult to adapt to someone's personal wishes.
When it became clear that PivotX development stopped the need to find another CMS was very apparent.
After some initial tries to set up a Wordpress site from scratch which were quite easy, the wish to create a Wordpress site with the content of the PivotX site was next.
It is good to point out that Remark Webdesign has a lot of experience with creating Wordpress sites together with exporting and importing the "old" content to this new Wordpress site.
So if you have a PivotX site and you want to keep your content and you are contemplating to use a Wordpress site look no further and use Remark Webdesign as your partner!
Converting and adapting your content to a Wordpress site can be done by Remark Webdesign for only € 100!
Remark Webdesign can create a payment option on your PivotX web site without having to set up a full webshop. Especially suited for smaller companies who do not have the possibility (or do no what to spend the time) to maintain a complete webshop with payment option.
Simple and clean!
Your PivotX site's options are raised considerably by this.
The script can also be adapted for a site with another CMS.
So if you see other possibilities or have other wishes, ask Remark Webdesign!
]]>So now there is a mobile example for the webshop. This webshop uses the same "back-end" as the regular webshop. The products and clients are all in 1 administration part.
See hier
The nice thing of this example (besides the shared administration) is that the shop displays as a reasonible regular site when displayed on a bigger screen. This can be seen by selecting the mobile version in a normal browser and making the display smaller. At a certain moment the display switches to the mobile version.
Any suggestions? Don't hesitate to make them known!
]]>This time some noticeable updates!
A nice script that displays scrolling text, text blocks or images if they were news tickers.
See here
And on request a demonstration page for a somewhat older PivotX extension Media.
See here
Furthermore the improved archive list has been installed in the roll menu on this site.
]]>This created the need for an example page!
]]>Read on to see how this display looks like (if you aren't already looking at this through such a browser)!
When you do you will read that there are again 2 additions. Fun!
Below some images of the mobile lay-out.
A plain display that looks clean and nice (maybe an idea to implement on your PivotX website?) with all features that PivotX offers.
Some pages will display awkward in a mobile browser (e.g. all those examples of extensions and additions). In most cases this has been noticed and the display gives a warning or the display is suppressed at all. If there are still pages that are displayed incorrectly in your mobile browser do not hesitate to alert Remark Webdesign (a.o. through a comment below)!
In the near future some fine-tuning will be done to let the whole lay-out become perfect.
In the meantime also 2 extra Additions pages were published:
A nice gallery with a special effect of showing the images on a full screen.
S Gallery
and a variant on a slideshow using extension cycleshow.
Slideshow in Cycleshow
So there are 2 additions to chapter Additions!
Nice social media links:
Social media in separate links
and a nice script to play video on a web page:
]]>Although this cookie warning is considered a nuisance by many (and rightfully so) still the obligation remains. Now this site also has such a warning. Luckily it is one time only, less invasive and revocable (through the small link just above the menu) so few will take offense to this warning.
It also shows that Remark Webdesign can provide your site with such a warning. The real lay-out (the way the warning is shown) can be adapted to your need and idea.
]]>A fully active (although your orders won't be delivered.....) webshop can be built for you by Remark Webdesign. This webshop is powered by OpenCart and has also a theme selector so you can see what effect a theme has on the style of the pages.
The webshop can be seen here.
This webshop installation has different lay-outs for categories and some menu choices and subcategories are deliberately left empty so you can see what effect that has.
Go ahead and register in the webshop and "play" around with the possibilities. Like already mentioned you can even order but do not count on delivery........!
]]>More functions, use of a custom font and different backgrounds that are displayed in such a way that the most part of the image can be seen dependent on the size of the browser window.
Even more an opportunity to order a web site from Remark Webdesign!
Did you already register to keep informed of the latest news?
Click here to see an enlarged display of the lay-out.
The nice background and special font are well visible.
The weblog can be seen through Nutrition
]]>This time a layout that uses transparency alot and changing backgrounds too.
Click here to display the new layout.
Possibly something for your new web site?
This new layout only contains English content and revolves around 1 subject: Nutrition.
The different pages are created in HTML5 and the user can select the background to displayed when creating the content. There are also possibilities to choose different images to be shown on the front page compared to the detail display.
]]>Your attention please for the latest updates on this site.
As of now you can use the register possibility. This gives you the advantage that when ever some new entry (like this one) is published on this site you will get notified of that through mail.
Some additional technical updates have been done as well.
Like mentioned above you can now register on this site. You can do that through the button in top right corner ("Login") or by clicking the text "" in the sidebar.
As soon as new entires are published you will get a mail about that. It will also place, when you are logged in, your data in a comment in 1 of the items of category Suggestions?
For your convenience the link for registering: register/login.
Also new is a new gallery design: Special gallery. This design is also used in the photoblog lay-out (Standard07). As this is still the latest lay-out you will find this also linked in the menu under header "Latest lay-out".
It turned out that the general structure of the site displayed peculiar in some browser versions. This has been updated.
Still noticing something weird? Please tell us by entering a comment below.
A lay-out that emphasizes the photos that are attached to the content.
This lay-out uses extension Slideshow.
The earlier on mentioned extension to a lay-out for a photo blog has become reality.
In the lay-out more than 1 slideshow has been used to show to potential possibilities.
Attach you nicest or most recent images to an entry and publish!
For some examples of the possibilities of extension Slideshow see its sample page.
]]>Furthermore standard lay-outs 3 and 6 now contain the login/registration option.
This login/registration option can be very handy to get your visitors more involved with your site. If you get them to register they get the advantage that they will be alerted on every entry you publish (alas not the pages). As an extra they won't have to fill their data whenever they publish a comment.
The advantage for you is that you can use their registered data for specific mailings.
The new style choice is one of transparency. The content has been defined with different amounts of transparency to let the background, in this case a photo of a beautiful waterfall in Norway, shine through as much as possible.
When you experiment with this style together with the different lay-outs you will notice that the content is not always readable. This style will better fit a still to be published standard lay-out: a photoblog!
Again a reason to follow this site!
]]>In the meantime there have been some changes already of which is the most important the introduction of a new part of the site named "Addition". This part contains specific designs of all kind that you can use on your site. The different menu samples can also be found there.
There also is a page contributed to the use of a PivotX extension Password protection. With this extension the whole site or parts of it can be made only accessible through a password.
At the moment the most important addition in the "Addition" part is the Own content list. This is a design that creates kind of a gallery of your own content. Entries and pages can be listed in any order. The introductions of all this content will de displayed and the possibility is offered to view the content in more detail. A job well done if I say so myself!
It is a good idea to watch this part of the site!
Also notice the usage of the Rounded corners script to get nice rounded borders.
]]>The most suitable place for roll-out menus has to be the top of the screen. That's why Remark Webdesign has created some menus that are better suitable for the footer of the same screen.
Obviously these menus can also be put at the top of the screen if desired.
]]>The line distance has been raised en some buttons have disappeared which could only distract the passing visitor.
The sequence in the sidebar has been changed which makes a less busy impression.
And how about those nice curved corners on specific elements?
With pride there can be announced that during the past time 3 new web sites have gone live! In menu "Site examples" you can see them shown.
Who's next?
]]>The new lay-out offers the possibility to set up a web site without blog and only pages. These pages can have a relation to each other through their sorting order. This order is also show in the menu.
Pages with sorting order 100, 110 and 120 form a group and 200 and 210 do too. Within a group there can be another group. For examples 111, 112, 113 and 114. You can see a demonstration in lay-out 06. So you can create a general page about Writers and group pages about specific writers.
Another new thing is the option for all standard lay-outs to put the right column on the left. If there already is a left column for advertising then this is put automatically on the right. This can be useful if a vertical menu is used.
